This just highlights the economic devastation wrought across much of the country in a nation no longer based on industry and goods production, coupled with a free market that offshored jobs. Whoever occupies the Oval Office needs to pay attention to those 2,400 counties and their people.

So.. The less then 500 counties that voted for Biden produces 70% of the US GDP.. While the 2400+ counties Trump won, only produces 30% of US GDP. LinkSo let's go back an old proven standard that only "income tax payers" can vote? You for that?

Yeah but the Biden counties are leaking.
The US Post Office reports that so far in 2020 300,000 people in New York city have made PERMANENT address changes.
Today's "Wall Street Journal" had an op ed by a guy who moved his $3,600,000,000 hedge fund from California to Texas.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.
Democrats would burn this country to the ground, if they could rule over the ashes.

Those 2400 counties produce food, power, natural gas, gasoline, all of which are needed. Being a psychology major counseling snoflakes isn't producing anything. College professors aren't producing anything but mushy brains, except for stuff like engineering, nursing, doctors and those are a minority. A Phd in basket weaving doesn't count. Half the people in New York city are on some kind of government dole like, rent subsidies, welfare, foodstamps, etc. Then the tax payers have to provide public transportation. It is all overpriced in big cities, so that 70% is probably only about 30% when you factor out the government dole and excessive prices.
My SIL lives in New York (Bronx I think) and lives in a tiny one bedroom apartment that costs her more in rent than my wife and I pay for a mortgage on a 5 bedroom, 3-1/2 bath, 2,800 sq. ft. home, with swimming pool in Alabama. She lives there to be close to her kids who live there.

If you are trying to imply that Democrat-run counties are superior to Republican-run ones based on GDP, may I ask you to now run a comparison of blue versus red counties with regard to welfare roles, unemployment, homelessness, crime, drug abuse, murder rate, tax rates, and pollution?
No, I didn't think you would.

The real question would be "Why do cities breed lemmings"?
Broncos are officially the worst team in the nation this year.

GDP includes only final goods and services. The beef sold to McDonalds isn’t counted but the hamburger sold in San Fran is. Banking, medical services, brokerage services, credit card processing are all counted. That statistic is meaningless. It’s just a measure of population density. That’s why GDP is measured by country not city. For that statistic to have any meaning you would need to count intermediate goods. If you did that I’m sure Trump counties would greatly exceed Biden counties.

Democrats are good at creating votes from thin air, not much else.
@jameslavish
If you work 40 hrs/wk: at 5% inflation and after 5 years, you need a 28% pay raise or to work 44 more hours (*one full extra week* per month+) to make up the difference.
This is inflation

Duh... the big cities have the industry! Car dealerships, malls, shops, manufacturing facilities are built in metropolitan areas for several reasons: Supply chain, infrastructure, transportation access, target markets, and employment pool. The cities have the biggest populations too. And... they happen to have the biggest democratic base. Doesn't mean the dems are responsible for the U.S. production and wealth. It is just a matter of location and numbers.

Progressives are the most open minded, tolerant, and inclusive people on the planet, as long as you agree with everything they say, and do exactly as you're told.
