The crosshair itself is heavy enough. The other junk in there i could care less about The reticle does not subtend to the edge of the glass. The tree with dots sucks when shooting paper. When I had one, I thought the dots were bullet holes in the paper. It just sucks. One of Burris's worst ideas. I generally really like Burris rifle scopes, but the E1 sucks.. I have this reticle on a 17 HMR that I use in prairie dog towns and like it very much.

I carried mine one day on my Mini Grendel and found it wanting compared to others. Swapped it for a Nipponese K6, which is lighter and just fine for the little cartridge. The E1 will be fine on my CZ 457 Varmint, which may never get in the field.

And this is why there is an innumerable amount of available reticles...

Hatari, the new FF IV's and Signatures are made in China, or so Doug has reported. Well, I stand corrected. I've read that Fullfield E1 and other production went to the Philippines. Looks like not all the lines went or stayed. Thanks for the info.

The longer range MOA reticle is quite nice and I’ve been extremely impressed with the two I have. The E1 reticle sucks. This is the one I have

I have one on my Rem 700 limited 280 rem. It’s a love hate relationship with that E-1 reticle. But for the price you can find them can’t complain a great deal about it. I paid under $200 for mine new in the box. A regular plex reticle would really make it easy to win a few of.

If it's made in the Philippines, I know it's a very good scope. If it's one of the new Chinese ones, I'd pass. This is old, I know, but have you ever seen an E1 made in China? I have two, both made in the Philippines, and no information that suggests that they’ve moved production of the E1 line. Fullfield IVs and some others, are made in China. Politics aside, that doesn’t mean they’re no good. The quality depends on how hard Burris works to ensure it, which is an open question for me, for now. Politics NOT aside, I’m trying very hard not to buy Chinese goods if there’s an alternative made elsewhere. Usually there is.

I’ve got one on my .17 HMR. Glass is very clear for the price tag. Turrets are not great, but you can dial if you wanted. Love the reticle. Get one! If you don’t like it, PM me and maybe I’ll take it.

I much prefer the FFII w/ the first version of the Ballistic Plex reticle. Both versions are good IME.

I much prefer the FFII w/ the first version of the Ballistic Plex reticle. Both versions are good IME. I totally agree: Damn hard to go wrong with the tried and true ballistic plex. Most of my hunting rifles wear the FFII 3-9x40 with this reticle. Most all of my AR's wear the AR specific AR762 and AR556 4.5-14x42. It has the C4 windplex moa reticle: Its a great reticle as well. I have no complaints about it or the AR762 and AR556 rifle scopes either. I'd spend the extra money on one of those before I bought an E1. I've been known to use them on some bolt guns too: They always return to zero and track very well too. Its a scope you don't hear much about, but its a good one...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

To each their own. I have a Burris 2-7x35 with E1 reticle that I have grown to really like. I now have it on Browning BLR 7mm-08 and the subtensions are very useable once you get the scope dialed in. I like the reticle as well as my Leupolds with ballistic plex reticles. I'd buy another if I had the need for another scope.
Start young, hunt hard, and enjoy God's bounty.
