Want a big beefy tactidouche bolt knob on one of my 700 target rifles. Who is accepting work (without a huge backlog) that does good work? Got pics of your favorite? Post em up with the smiths' name please! TIA.

Longrifles, Inc or Twisted Barrel are who I have used and absolutely no complaints!

There are many others.

Karl Feldcamp at Kampfeld Customs in ID is the man for this. Check out his assorted sizes and styles on his website. Good stuff. He's done many for me.

Kampfelds campfire or hunters knobs depending on the rifle are about as big as I like.

Karl’s prices, quality of work and turn around time are hard to beat.

I've used LRI and I used Feldkamp. I choose Feldcamp. He's just such a nice guy.

+1 I've had Karl do a number of his Campfire knobs in various model 700's. Its the perfect size IMHO and yes just a great guy to deal with.

Personally, I prefer a Hollands bolt handle, properly timed & tigged, with the smaller knob:

Depends on how much work has been done on your bolt but if not much then a PTG one piece bolt is a nice option. You can get whatever handle you want put on it. I would only go this route if the item was in stock as if not you could be in for a long wait.

That Holland bolt really appeals to me, classic and functional. No "Honey Dipper" knobs for me, that is what we call septic pump out trucks around here.

Yup. Campfire for trim rigs and Hunter for heavier rifles.

I’ve had Jim Kobe in Bloomington Mn install tactical bolt knobs on a number of REM 700s. The work has been fast and flawless.

Is this really a thing?

No disrespect, but I've never had a problem with bolt knobs.

Maybe I've got girlie hands.....

I make fancy bolt knobs for the guns I rebarrel....maybe 50 different woods...... to me it is like a Christmas tree ornament.

Echoing aalf...
Dan at Accu-tig will weld on a threaded bolt handle properly timed for a good price. Call him about the measurements he needs before you mail it off.
Add the bolt knob of your choice.
I had the one he did for me nitride finished and it is super slick and weather resistant.

lol........yeah, it’s apparently a thing. Mostly large scopes with large ocular ends makes for less clearance for fingers and fist to fit.

My serious hunting rifles don’t have scopes with large ocular ends so bolt handle clearance isn’t an issue. The only time I have somebody mess with my bolt handles is to take some weight off of them. I currently have three factory Remington Ti skeletonized handles that are going on M700’s.

LRI did one for me a couple of weeks ago and turned it around within a few days-- they did a great job.

That's very nice.

I've got the big Badger Ordnance knob on a couple of mine. Did it back when that was about the only option. Lots of ways to go now.

I have two Holland's, I also like them over the overly large style.
