I have been looking at a new shotgun. Been thinking Benelli m2 or m4. What are your thoughts from those that own them.
pistol grip or adj. stock ?
I do a little competitive shooting. Some pig hunting
best place to buy accessories too ?
thanks everyone.

I have the Benelli M2 Tactical. With the pistol grip stock and Ghost Ring sight, it's not a Duck gun......but doubles well as a Predator gun for Coyote calling! Has been flawless for me.....I train mostly with cheap promo loads and use #4 Buck the rest of the time.....handles all of them without a hiccup.
If you have one with a regular stock....don't see why it wouldn't work well for normal hunting....but I own several Beretta's that handle those chores, so never spent the money on one.
Good luck!

M2 with a normal/regular stock for the win.

The M4 is gas operated and costs considerably more than an M2. The M2 is far more versatile and has many more after market accessories. This is just one configuration I use for turkey hunting. With the installation of a Comfortec butt stock and a longer barrel it becomes a dandy field gun. I like the Benelli Montrefelto models as well. Here is an M1 I use for home defense, with 21" barrel, extended magazine and red dot & 300 lumen light.

To me an M4 is more of a collectible due to the military heritage. Kept in excellent condition you won’t ever lose money on it but for a hunting gun that’s going to see wear and tear I can’t see spending the extra money.

went shopping and changed my mind. Bought a super nova and turkey choke instead. It patterns excellent at 50 yards. Hopefully dead pig photos to come soon. Thank you

Coincidentally, I was just reading up on both the M4 and the M2 this morning because I found one for sale on Gunbroker.
The M4 is gas operated and weighs about a pound more than the M2. The M2 costs less and is a much simpler design.

Benelli mades it name in semi autos with there ultra reliable and simpler inertia operated shotguns. U.S. Military spec called for a gas operated design so they came up with the M4.

Why not the M3? You get the best of both worlds, semi auto and pump in the same gun. I have have both slug and field barrels. Makes for a great all around hunting and home defense platform.

Super Black Eagle 1 was probably the best money I ever spent on a gun. I use it for EVERYthing. All that thing ever does is work perfectly.
