This was one of my target bucks. Had not seen him since season opened, and thought maybe he'd been killed on a neighbors farm. Saw a bunch of deer this morning, and this one came in behind me in my blind spot and almost got across the field without me seeing him. Had to make a quick shot on him quartering away. 187 yards, dropped in his tracks, Remington 700 American Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor, 120 grain Sierra Prohunter, lungs were mush. Now I have to suffer through the rest of the season, knowing I've used my one buck tag. Great deer and in the bucket makes for easy toting. I'm too old to drag them anymore, and that little tractor has hauled out quite a few deer.
