Decided to sell this safe queen. 80’s Winchester XTR featherweight in 30-06. Scope and rings NOT included... gun is in excellent condition, metal/blueing very clean, wood very nice with few very minor safe marks. I had a model 70 just like this one in 270 Win. that had a slightly different forend on it (straight, instead of curved like this one) that I bought with a badly performed glass bed job.
The former owner must have thought it was junk after the stock wouldn’t break loose (no release agent on the bottom of the barrel)? LOL 😂
So I took it home and finally got the stock off, rebedded the action and barrel so that it was truly free floating. Wow, that rifle shot clover leafs with Remington 130 gr. Corelocks!
I had to sell it due to some unfortunate circumstances at the time. Sure could’ve kicked myself for selling it???
Bump it on up for a fine rifle!!

My 270 is the same but in the Win Cam model, factory multi colored laminated stock. Hunted with is yesterday, and yes they do shoot. Took a bedded doe @ 417 yards, two guys with me looked at each other and said Whoa, he killed it, laughed my a _ _ off at their reaction. Lets go drive this hill to the watchers and pick it up later. One guy had hunted once from a tree stand and the other never hunted before, both carrying shot guns. Looked at the two of them and said you really need to get one of these, picked up my brass got up and kept walking. The last 3 guns I own that will never leave are that Win 270, Win 71 and S&W 57, first ones I bought in a bolt, lever and revolver, if you decide you don't like that 06, let me know. Good luck with her, I'm sure she won't let you down.
