Been looking for the right one for a while. I had one about 40 years ago and like a dope I sold it. Bring on the Snows of Kilimanjaro, The Short, Happy Life of Francis McComber!

I regret selling my original one and waxed and waned through the years about another one. I've mentioned it before, but I find myself hunting more and more "retro", even though my 20/15 eyes aren't what they used to be, but out to 200 yards plus, I can kill them all day long.

Bill DeVaux's gun shop in Norwich, VT, used to have a few Sedgleys pass through. The one that I remember the best was a mannlicher stocked Krag in 25-35.

I assumed when we chatted last night that you were thinking about it. Quick thinking grin Looking forward to seeing that in Feb.

Having lived in a suberb of Philly for 64 years i was very familiar with the Sedgley name and knew a few people owning them.
They had employed quite a number of people over the years including a gunsmith by name of Martin Wurzer, and a stock man by name of Pete Peterson. They eventually formed their own business in Philly, and my father had several rifles built there looking very much like the gun pictured here, but without the schnobel forend.

Absolutely . Mr. Sedgley took care of the "soft" issues. It's in is book.

I know where on is right now but the owner is hanging on to it. It's not as fancy as Jorge's but it is a 30-06 and is very similar. I don't recall if it's a Rock Island receiver or a Springfield. I went with the last owner to the range where he was shooting 30-06 M1 Garand ammo and got 3 shots in less than 2" with the adjustable sights similar to what is on Jorge's rifle. I was impressed considering the ammo was simple bulk ball ammo. You did good Jorge.

I thought there was a brittleness issue.
