Shot a small 8pt yesterday right at closing time on our opening day. I had a slow day and due to the worsening of the covid around here and the uncertainties, I figured I'd take this buck. 200 yards with the LH NULA 7mm-08. The 120gr Nosler BT almost acted like it was shot out of a Creedmoor.

" not a CM. . ."
Are you absolutely certain? Maybe someone behind you was firing a CM and it hit your bullet in flight, knocked it off course, then resumed its travel after realigning and killed the deer. Maybe. Possibly

Dead is dead.
I’ve drank the 6.5mm Kool aid. 😂, my other fave is the 7mm-08.
Congrats on buck!

If you'd used the Creedmoor the horns would be bigger. The Creed scares the horns outta 'em.

Gotta love those Ballistic Tips. They really perform well out of my rifles too.

I think that's pocket lint on the bullet along with blood.

It'll do until you can get a Creed.... I have both, find myself taking the 7-08 more than the Creed, both very nice rifles with custom barrels, both equally accurate, both 700's in Hunter's Edge stocks. Both kill deer and hogs. The Creed even has a NF SHV scope, the 7-08 a Conquest. DF

The 7mm-08. The excellent cartridge getting the job done without fanfare...

The 7mm-08. The excellent cartridge getting the job done without fanfare... Yep. Almost as boringly efficient as the old '06. Just keeps on keeping on... DF
