I stopped into my local gun shop today to check on a consignment I dropped off a couple weeks ago and it's pathetic. There were maybe 8 or 10 long guns left in the store and 2/3rds were odd ball consignments that have been there for ever. They still have a pile of handguns, but I'm sure that's only because getting anything put on your permit with all the COVID BS is just making it not worth screwing with. If we lived in a free state I'm sure those shelves would be empty too. There was less than 20 boxes of ammo in the place, and what they did have was limited to one box per day. FWIW, I took in an old Savage 110 in 243 sporting a no name package scope I paid $200 for and sold it for $500 net to me (they listed it @ $625 with their cut) and it sold in under 2 weeks. I did throw a box of Federal blue box in to sweeten the deal though. Now I'm wondering what else in the safe I can turn a profit on. How's your LGS looking right now?
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I stopped in at a farm supply store in Princeton KY today, and was surprised to see some ammo still on the shelf. Lots of 25-06 and 7-08, some 308's and 45-70's, and some more assorted stuff that I forget. This is a really big deer hunting area, so that surprised me.

I don't know what mine looks like. I tried to go there a few weeks ago and the parking lot was full and cars were parked on the shoulder of the road with people waiting outside to get in. I could not find a place to park and just came home.
I can't imagine much inventory left by the time I can get back there.

Pretty weak. Very few odd balls of powder, no primers, 3 boxes of bullets. Not much ammo and none of the more popular to include 30-30. About 10 rifles and 6 of them are lefty axis,a half dozen shotguns.

Lots of shotguns and big game rifles, probably 30-50 of each, and a few ARs, some new, some used. Ammo is slim, lots of reloading components pretty depleted.

I went to my favorite Hardware/ gun shop the other day, he had very little ammo, still had a doz or so handguns about that many. Rifles, the same with shotguns. He's been selling old ammo, I bought a box of rem. 38-40, 4 rounds missing for $38.00,. I may have a pistol bought off gunbroker, if I win sent there, and take my odd ball ammo, to see what I can get for it.
Deer Camp! about as good as it gets!

None left around here close. Used to be half a dozen thriving full service gun shops 10-15 minutes away I used to tell people that we should support the local shops and not head straight for the big box stores, or the day would come that we wouldn't have any local stores, and we'd all have to depend on the whims of some corporate dude somewhere that didn't know anything about guns. That, and the internet killed off the LGS's in this area. Don't know what will happen with der kommisar in office now

Hardly any shotguns. Some AR and similar. Ammo is tough.....if they get any .22.lr. 223, 308, 9mm or 45 acp it's gone in a flash. I swing by twice a week as some good old hunting rigs pop up.

We have one gun shop, a pawn shop and two chain stores that sell guns.
Smaller gun shops went bye bye years ago

Was at my favorite LGS today. Plenty of guns. Plenty of ammo. Just prices way higher.

Mine closed--permanently.
Their prices were always higher than Fin-Feather-Fur so I didn't buy much there. Right now the Fin has a sale on long guns, including Browning O/Us.
Don't blame me. I voted for Trump.

Was at my favorite LGS today. Plenty of guns. Plenty of ammo. Just prices way higher. There’s that too. Sell it at a honest price. 1 box limit. Everyone gets a turn. Sell it at WOW price. Like $30/ 50 for steel case 9mm. There’s some on the shelf. I did pick a couple boxes eldm 6.5 Prc for $37 box at a whole in wall pawn shop.

Man, it’s rough out there. We get in toms of stuff every day and it goes faster than it takes us to log it into the system. I’ve taken lots of stuff off the web site just so we’ll have stuff our walk in customers want. It’s not going to get any better any time soon. Ammo is pretty tough. We go through about 10K rounds of 9mm a day. Hunting ammo is in a bad way. I’ve put limits on almost everything. Lots of gouging going on - I see pricing from competitors every day and shake my head. They get it from the same manufacturers and distributors as I do, at the same price. $30 for 50 rounds of 9mm FMJ is crazy. With that being said, several distributors are playing the game too.
Don’t expect ammo or loading supplies to loosen up anytime soon. It’ll get worse before it gets better.
I enjoy handguns and I really like shotguns,...but I love rifles!
