Is the 7SAUM a popular round? I can’t think of ever seeing ammo or rifles for it. And now that Remington is what it is, I wonder if anybody else chambers rifles in the cartridge. Is it simple/possible to form brass from a more popular and available cartridge?

I too am caught up in the long range craze and am contemplating 6.5PRC vs. 280AI. At this point, I’m leaning 280 AI in a Montana simply because I like that rifle better than the 6.5PRC rifles I’m interested in, the Christenen Arms Mesa and a Bergera b14 ridgeline.

I had no problem resizing 300 SAUM'S down to 7 SAUM'S but it leaves them with a short shoulder length. With a starting load and 140 spitzers seated long enough to engage the lands they fireformed the brass just fine. With factory loads at $50 + for remingtons they are expensive or if you really like beating yourself buy the Noslers at $70+ / box and you know you don't find them at whatevermart either. Mb
