Those images are pretty vivid for being 12,000 years old. I’ve seen rock etchings not nearly that old that have eroded to being barely recognizable. Color me skeptical. I thought the same thing..... This. Looks remakably like the cave paintings in Europe. I didn't see any of the purpoted mammoths (no tusks) either., just overweight deer or pigs or something. Maybe some aliens....

We're they painted by a trusted news source? You know, fair and balanced.

Made me think I want some of that paint. According to the article, almost all other traces of the tribe have been consumed by the warm, humid atmosphere of the area. Yet, that rock wall art looks like it was done last week...that is just AMAZING! ...have to say the chic scientist is not hard to look at....but then, she looks pretty good after having to endure a two hour car ride AND a four hour hike to get there! Sounds like a shopping trip with my dear, little wife. The Arab chick with the giant forehead?

I have to join the skeptics. We have vivid paintings from 17,000 years ago in France, but they are in a cave that was only discovered in the 1940s. It is hard to believe that paint could last 12,000 years on an exposed cliff face in the jungle. I don't buy it, I doubt paintings could survive 100 years in that environment. The paintings in France are much more detailed and artistic than the paintings in Columbia. The cave at Lascaux France was opened to the public for viewing. After just 23 years, just the presence of humans in the cave was beginning to cause damage to the paintings and the public viewing was shut down. And these rock paintings, in the steam and heat and rain, the insects and the weeds present in the Columbian jungle, have survived for over 12,000 years? No way, Jose.

But it's on the internet so it must be true. I'm sure snopes would be able to verify everything.

Super interesting and cool. Will be watching to see if the paintings present a timeline as it traverses along the 4 mile distance. I'd say they have themselves a new Nat'l treasure. Wonder if any space ship depictions will surface?

Well that's a bunch of horseshit. 12,000 years old, in a temperate rain forest, and it looks maybe a couple years old. They really think people are just [bleep] retarded now. And some obviously are.

I feel like most discoveries out in the middle of nowhere are made by Teenagers hiking, camping, hunting, spelunking, getting high, or looking for a place to practice making babies. Not by a newly minted team of archeologists who just happen to stumble onto a find in their field of expertise because they were trying to avoid a snake.
Anything is possible I guess.

The Americans and Designated Survivor were good. Both long series with great characters. The best though was Justified.

For the life of me I can’t see how one tells a mastodon from a bear from a camel in all that graffiti. I guess my higher education isn’t high enough.
