I started high up the road on the river today hunting for Coho salmon.
I usually hit several holes from the bank until I run into fish.
The first hole was a bust and may have been fished ahead of me. The 2nd was crowded and I passed.

#3 was the ticket. One on right away and off before a fight could ensue...dang!
Then a smallish Coho hit the jig and the party was on!
A wild fish, I was required to let it go and did so promptly...after a couple of quick pics.

The rest of the day was more exploring with nothing to show for it.
Hopefully a bunch will get here soon and a few hatchery victims will be available.
