PB, you're acting about as rational as a rabid Creedmoor fan with all of this crap that you're posting.
My goodness.
It's official. I missed the selfie deadline so I'm Maser's sock puppet because rene and the Polish half of the fubar twins have decided that I am.

why do (I) need a crackmore if (I) have a 257 roberts? Well, first thought would be you don't need CM if you already own a 257 Bob. But if you didn't own either, the CM would probably be the better investment today in regard to finding good modern ammunition available about anywhere. Just a short while ago, you could of said you can walk into any Walmart and buy 6.5 Creedmoor ammo, but I guess you can't even say that anymore. I own a couple of Creedmoors, still would like to pick up .257 Roberts someday.

I subscribe to the thought that the Swedes fixed that problem a 130~ish years ago. Husqvarna 1640 in 6.5x55 = Lagom

I started out hunting with a Win 94/30-30 and still use it occasionally. I've been shooting a 270 since the 70's and a 7mm08 since the early 80's (and I'm not gay but I am a Boomer, so have at it).....so when the Creed hoopla came out I took a look at the ballistics and saw no need for having one. Started my boys hunting with 270's also so we would all be using the same ammo when out hunting. I really dont see the enough advantage of the Creed over either cartridge to add another to my small collection. Ive taken elk, deer, bear, antelope with both calibers and mostly they fell in their tracks or went just a few yards.
Also I'm not a fan of the "long rang" 1000 yd bullschitt as I don't consider that hunting even here out west. To me sneaking up on game to get within 30-30 range is hunting.
Put that in your manbun boys..

I have one, I like it. For any new shooter that is the first caliber that I recommend. Falls somewhere between a .243Win and .308Win which is just about perfect for a kid or lady with a one rifle battery. A little light for elk but perfect any deer type critter. I shot my mule deer buck this year out here in the wide open west at about 45 yards - yes, with a 6.5 Creedmoor. I also don't care for long range hunting, but dinging steel plates out around 4-500 yards is fun. Doing the same with a 30-06 is only fun for about 10 shots then the shoulder says that's enough. I think it's a great caliber, has been hyped a bit too much but I know a good thing when I see it and plan on keeping at least one around for a long time.

Don't hate the Creed, hate the idiots.. There's idiots on both sides of the issue.

An M96, a Tika, and a precision version that easily hits steel up to and probably further than 1,200 yards. Why mess with success?

Our son is adding different calibers etc at a rapid pace while building his arsenal of rifles. He thinks that his mother and I should add a 6.5 C for him via Christmas. No issue from me as far as this goes but he absolutely refused to pick out the mandatory skinny jeans that would accompany the rifle.

I've only killed one deer over 100 yards and it was about 125 yards. All the rest have been under 100 yards. I don't need a Creedmoor. If I was in a plains state and needed a long range rifle for say antelope, then I might consider a Creedmoor. I do fine with my 308 and 30-06. I would be more interested in a 358 since I already have a 35 Whelen. Bigger holes make better bleed outs and blood trails. Hunting means getting closer to your prey.

6.5 is the 7mm of 30-40 yrs ago. Everybody had to have one. Ummm no: Where is Shrapnel when you need him. Like him, I'd rather hit my root with a ball peen hammer on an anvil than own a KOOKmoor.
A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”
