Ok, I have much more versatile alternative at about $5 per shot. A bolt gun chambered for .416 Remington Magnum. With 350 Swift-A-frame bullet it has very similar ballistic trajectory to .30-06 with 180gr. Much better knockdown power at all practical hunting ranges.

Local shops around me are saying they haven’t gotten a 30/30 box in over a year. Guess it was on the back of the production list when Covid hit.

At least right now on Ammoseek the ammo offered by Alamo is the lowest price 30-30 available right now. Other offers pop up a bit lower and then disappears quick. So it's selling out at over $4 per round. Seems like $5 per round is the current constantly available going price for 30-30.

Fugg’m. I have .30-30 brass I’ve been reloading over 20 years. And I make my own bullets these days. And know how to recharge primers. Oh, almost forgot, a local loony is making his own BP.

I'm guessing they are typos and the actual prices are... $14.95 and $21.95.

Someone with fat fingers probably entered the numbers into the web program.

Have you called them to them to confirm those prices?

No, all their ammo is priced like that, maybe no as high but still outrageous. Like $80 a box for Prvi Partizan.

I sent them an email letting them know I support their right to ask whatever they want, but called them scroung of the gun world scalpers and that I’d never spend a cent with them.

I'd not spend a nickel at their site.....Ever! I understand supply and demand, but that's just plain price gouging.

I really don't get this mentality, nor do I understand people calling them "gougers" or "scalpers". How can you gouge/scalp someone on a non-essential, non life-sustaining item such as .30-30 ammo? It honestly makes no sense why people get all bent out of shape about this stuff. Now, it would be one thing if we are talking about bottled water in a hurricane, but this is nothing more than ammo....and .30-30 ammo at that.

This is capitalism, plain and simple. You may not like it, but a business is free to sell items at any price they choose....just as you are free not to buy those items. But calling them names is a little petty.
