Wait, I mean its a .178 Moa rifle... That's way better than your measly 1/ 2 moa you brag about.. Nevermind that I'm not hitting the orange dot. Its just there for the hell of it.... I was aiming exactly where the bullets landed. I figured I'd join the club..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Sometimes you luck out and your group catches a flyer or 2. 😉

But did it happen “all day long” and “when I do my part”?? Everybody knows another shot or two and that barrel would have drastically overheated and group would have “opened up”. Always best to keep groups to 2-3 shots so that doesn’t happen.

Someone will be along to tell you that he is displeased with your method, and you need to prove yourself by his standard.
The right one.

Wow, I wish my 10 shot that well. Mine shoots well enough for what I use it for. Was dialing in scope, and last three confirmed I was where I needed to be.

That was BSA's attempt at light humor, the guy shoots 10 round groups..................I can do 2 moa for 10 with my 7.62 REPR, 155 skinners and irons.

Well, the only one. Of course he did it wrong. The real standards are either two consecutive groups of 5 shots each, or 3 consecutive groups of 3 shots each. Statistically, either one provided you more data than a single 10 shot group.

I'm pretty sure where the first shot is going. But now and then I just have to check to satisfy myself... Yep. Still spot on!

I'm pretty sure where the first shot is going. But now and then I just have to check to satisfy myself... Yep. Still spot on! Rock, Better have a sharp knife next time you put those sights on a pig. It's always fun to see how idea on the fire evolve. One of the drivers for the 10 shot group challenges was a response I posted to someone question about PSA barrels. The previous weekend I'd been to the range with my wife and kids. Pulled their PSA guns out, and with each, put a sub 1/2 MOA 3 shot group on the paper, at which point, I handed them to the kids and told them to go shoot. I'd just shot my wife's gun within the week, so I put it on the 200 yard paper, and this group was around 3/4 MOA, but for iron sights at 200 I was pretty pleased. That last group was from an Odin barrel. So, three consecutive cold bore groups out of 3 different rifles with the largest being 3/4 MOA, and I was labeled all kinds of Heretic. Now a couple years later, with a primer shortage where I don't expect to see many 10 shot groups for awhile, the campfire wisdom is back to "well, where were the first three shots out of the case, and can you do that again tomorrow, or next week, or after a 70 degree temperature swing cold, with no sighters". Personally, I believe there's room for multiple standards. It's all about what metrics quantifies what you need to know for your specific purpose. For awhile, while ammo was cheap, I was doing a lot of Jerry Miculek style shooting, but in this current environment, I suspect we will be more focused on 3-5 shot position shooting, and things of that nature. It will be interesting to see how long these conditions last, and how they impact our shooting styles.

Yeah, AS, I'm in maintain ammo stock mode myself.
My range doesn't see much use these days. When I do, it's short and sweet.
I'm certainly not short, but then I don't intend to be later either. Who knows how long this will go on. Maybe forever.

Heck I shot 2 shot groups today....
Swapped red dots last night, put the dots on top of the irons and verified this morning 2 shots at a time. Fired maybe 10 rounds.
Shot 22 pistol some and 45’s, keeping my 5.56 and 9mm for tough times.
