Cookie was out camping for about a month on her recent photo run
Link to pics , and got reinforcement on just why she refuses to bunk in our wall tent. She is OK with tents, it's just she does not appreciate visiting midnight vermin therein.
About every other night for the duration, the raccoons would do a visit to the wall tent. We knew they were about and stowed near everything in lidded tubs. About all they really scored was a dehydrated pack of potato soup, which they opened but did not consume, and on another night a half full tin of bacon drippings I overlooked on the evening shutdown. I rather value bacon grease. Still though, they seem to like climbing on, chewing on, tossing around, and tipping over anything that is not tied down. Trail cam suggested they usually rummaged for approximately 15 minutes before leaving.
This guy was a less frequent visitor (about weekly), but according to the trail cam would spend near an hour sniffing out every grain of rice or bread crumb that dropped to the ground. Never climbed on the table, stoves, or chairs, never tipped anything over, and even took his aroma with him. But for the camera, one would have never known it was around.
Have a good one,
