A pawnshop here has a nice .300 Savage 99. Might have to go look at that one again...

That's got to be fun. I would have to move to Texas to get much hunting in. I am just too far away here in Misery. We went to Independence Ranch in Gonzales Texas and it was lots of fun. He has hogs brought in from trapping operations all over his area. You just have to get the right ones in front of your gun. I would guess his fences are pretty much hog tight. It is costly fun. We got so many I have forgotten. I just remember thinking a 223 would have been enough. But I wanted to blood my Steyr Scout and did it get blooded! I even got one with a finish shot from my 3" 1911 carry gun. I just didn't want to shoot a 308 at 2 yards. Be Well, RZ.

I hated independence ranch, guy was a prick! Every little thing he could charge he did. Sitting within sight of other hunters. Very unsafe how they ran it. Fug that place and owner with a good heart!

Buy it! You will like it. My 99F in .300 is my favorite rifle after hunting it just two seasons. They are amazingly smooth.

I hear this all the time! Just as quick as those hogs start impacting your others species, and they will you will cussing your hog problems, but its too late then. You had better be glad you don't have hogs.

You are blessed if you don't have wild hogs. Until you have them you cannot understand how much damage they do to water, soil, game and non-game animals. They will eat anything except rocks. There won't be an acorn, pine nut, or most any forage for the native animals. Of course I suppose the fact that they clean up dead animals and deer guts is good. Dirtfarmer tells me wild hogs will eat dead hogs. I have heard that hog farmers have fallen into hog pens and been eaten, but I don't know that for sure.

The last hog shot dug a deep hole. They can wreak havoc in no time at all!
