How compatible is a loose barrel set from one rifle to the next on a Winchester TD rifle with a straight walled case? In other words, if you have a loose 1894 or 1886 barrel set, can it simply be used on any other 94 or 86 rifle? Did Winchester ever change the pitch of the interupted threads?

In my experience, the threads are the same but barrels from one rifle often require fitting to time up on another. Sometimes they go right on but most of them time, for me, they do not.
