I know the ones with the long, cylindrical, hand-held fuel bottle have been around for ages. Is that pretty much the only choice of a go-to, everyday, run-of-the-mill torch? Won't be soldering or welding.

Quality pitch fork will set you back close to a hundred dollars. Plus or minus.

Quality pitch fork will set you back close to a hundred dollars. Plus or minus. If you think pitchforks are expensive, just try to find a good, well trained, pitchfork operator !

I bought two pitchforks in the last year.
One 5 tine and one that must be about 10(?).
They are both pretty decent, can't remember the brand. Not cheap, around $50 apiece if I remember correctly.
Bought a nice aftermarket mini torch head as well.
I'm gonna go check and see what make/model.

You talking the little trigger style mini me torch? not sure what size that is, but i'll be using it to loosen bolts, burn out old gaskets, etc. (and yes, possibly the odd saganaki or crème brûlée...LOL)

I like mine for annealing brass. No idea what brand it is. Bought it at the local hardware, guns, fishing poles, and reloading store.
It fits on Coleman fuel bottles as easily as the more expensive tall, skinny, blue bottles.

This is way better than the cheapo you buy with the bottle. Or if you don't want a self lighter just get a decent old time version.
