Gecko45 is pretty tough.

Don't believe he's an actual member here - but was famous back in the day for his exploits on the 'net.

The internet made 'em tough, Samuel Colt made them even.......lol.

I'm guessing most everyone on here is a pretty good dude in person and would be a lot of fun to share a camp with.

That's a good description of what fighting one's way out of a prison riot is like.

stxhunter;
Good afternoon to you my cyber friend, I hope the weather's nice down in your part of the world and all that matter to you are well.

While I hope I'm not stepping onto Gunner's bad side, as he did post it publically I'll just expand a wee bit on what you've noted. He was good enough to exchange some PM's with me back in the day and mentioned it as well.

Somehow Gunner ended up confronting a felon who pulled a revolver on him - the .38 as you've mentioned - and in fact shot him with it, I want to say more than once, but that detail is lost.

Gunner responded by taking said revolver away from the miscreant and beat him soundly with it.

While there's many definitions of "tough" to be sure - physical, mental or even spiritual I suppose - that alone makes me both wince and shake my head in wonderment when I think about it.

In my wilder, younger days Roger, I would have spotted you for someone I should do more listening than talking to - I was quite gifted that way somehow - some of it by natural means and then some by learning the hard way! wink

Lastly, while I'm not sure he's still involved in that activity, I PM'd a member here back in the day who'd seen JCMCUBIC fight and was most suitably impressed, so he's certainly in the running.

Honestly at my age now, if I can feed the cat without injuring myself I consider it a success! wink

All the best to you all down on the Texas coast this Christmas Season Roger.

Dwayne

There are many definitions of tough....
1) Toughest in a fight- MMA vs. Streetfighting vs Big Hoss.(You notice that not a single one of those fellas of the three different categories jumped in.)
2) Toughest for dealing with conditions. There are some on Backpack Hunting Forum that nearly do a marathon a day. In my view this is tough as hell.
3) American Man- Dealing with shrew of wife, bad job, bad boss, lack of hunting opportunity but making the best of life. This is where in my view the toughest people are. You get old, you get slower, you lose your strength but if you look up and never give up, never give up on your country, never give up on Jesus, never give in on life. You hold your head up in the face of the chitbirds and p%ss standing up- Then my friend you are one tough S() of a B&^^tch!

That's an easy one - from reading the threads over the years, it is obviously a tie among everyone but me.

Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

Gunner500 is a mountain of a man....a true living legend.

He's so big the last time he jumped up in the air he got stuck.

When he pinches a penny a bugger pops out of Abe's nose.

He's the guy Chuck Norris goes to for advice when things get tough.

I heared that John Henry grew scared just from Gunners stare.

My experience in life leads me to believe, you'll never know. And, many times you'd never have guessed. The toughest guys I've ever known were not announcing it and weren't looking to prove it. They knew and were at peace with it.
