Bought a Benjamin trail np xl. Repeatable accuracy is dismal . 2 to 3 inch at 20 yds after a 150 pellets. Anyone have experience with this model ?

It's not high quality match rifle, but I'd expect better than that. If you're using the cheapo scope that came with the rifle, that may very well be your problem. If not, I'd check all the screws for tightness and try some different pellets. You may find it's a tack driver with a different brand and/or weight pellet. People will tell you about spring gun hold being critical, but I never really found the hold to have an effect on accuracy, it effected the zero point more. Most of my spring guns shoot great off sand bags, but will shoot shoot off by an inch or more when shot with the "artillery hold" or some other form of hold.

Yes I may try a different air scope. Have done all the usual mechanical tweaks to scope and mounts to no avail

Often they send cheapo mounts with package deals that won't hold up to spring type air rifles. An easy way to see if they are sliding around is to mark where the mounts contact the base with a pencil. Doing the same where the scope and mount connect is a good idea also. You can also try it with open sights (if so equipped) to see where the problem is.

Is there a follow up to BB's report?
