Anyone use WTF, Worlds Finest Trimmer, to trim brass?
Looks like the easiest way I have ever seen. Is it accurate?

I use WFT's in two calibers and am very happy with the results. It works by indexing on the shoulder and trimming the neck from there. I have been very satisfied with the consistency of my cases after trimming. I suppose if you were assembling loads for competitive benchrest shooting, that a trimmer that depends of overall base to mouth measurement would be somewhat better, but I have had great results with the WFT for the rifles I have. A very nice feature of the WFT is that, if you use it properly, you do not have to chamfer the case necks after trimming. Also, it is VERY fast and easy to use, if you have a battery powered electric drill that can sit upright on a bench when rested on the battery.

I have used them for 3 years now, the WFT is perfect for hi volume cases, for me that's 222,223 and 6ppc.
I use mine in a drill press but about any drill will work. a must have IMO

Do any of you guys neck size only?

Their web site says that you should send in 3 cases if you neck size, so they can custom size the body to fit....

I use Collet dies on my 204 and 223 and am interested in one of their trimmers.

Blacktail is on point here. I've found I have to have a fully resized case to be able to use the WFT trimmer. And it's a flipping amazing tool..FWIW

I have one for 223 and use it for 223 and 20P. I'd love to find a used one for 308.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I use collet dies too and other neck dies, but at some point you have to size the body and that is the perfect time to trim

They also make the WFT2 that has interchangeable chamber bushings so you can trim for every rifle you own, the only downside is that it takes time to set it up correctly every time you change chamber bushings.
With the original WFT it only comes with one chamber bushing, set it once and forget it and it will trim the same length forever !!!!!!!!! downside is the cost of a separate trimmer for every rifle

I just tossed an envelope with 3 neck sized cases in it to Little Crow, for a .223 WFT trimmer.
Then I sent an email to give them a heads up.

I trimmed about 100 .223 cases the other day on my old RCBS rotary trimmer.
I long ago took the handle off that trimmer and put in a headless screw, so I could attach it to my power drill. That really takes the wear and tear off trimming by hand - but the WFT looks to be so much easier and I can use it on my .204's as well.

I have the WFT For 223 and the WFT2 for the Grendel and 280. I keep a new unfire case that is my desire case length with my WFT2 so I can switch the bushing quickly. I do have to chamfer the cases because the cutter cuts very flat on the case mouth. I use a Frankfort Arsenal case Prep took to speed that up. Overall, It’s been one of the best tools I have bought for reloading and makes trimming cases less tedious.

I have done several thousand .223's on my WFT. I chuck it in my drill press and not a drill. I resize my cases to my desired dimensions and then set my WFT to get the 1.760 length. Some cases are a little shorter than others and they come up short and don't get trimmed. Most end up at least 1.750. LC brass is the longest and takes the most trimming. You will have to chamfer the inside and outside of the case. I chuck my chamfer tool in the drill press too.

I think the Giraud Tri Way saves some time since it chamfers too.

Big fan of the WFT - I have one for .223 and then three others that trim 25/06 to .300 win mag.. Really like them.. I decap, size trim and tumble.. Find I don't need to worry about chamfering 223 if I tumble prior to loading.. FWIW.. I'm not running precision loads in the .223, just powder throw 55 grn factory type loads.I do use a Lee factory crimp die on the .223.. Bolt cases get chamfered FWIW..

i had a couple of wft liked the system one was set-up for the 222 family the other for 308 units are slow to adjust to length for different cartridges. sold them both and bought a lyman express trimmer much more versatile unit one thousands increments adjustments for length, check it out.

I started using the Hornady case length Comparator to size my .223 and 308 brass. I was sizing my cases to minimum length's and I was always cutting off a lot of neck and I had some really long necks which made using the crimper on the seating die difficult to use because case lengths were odd sizes along with the length of the necks. Once I started using the Comparator I started leaving my cases longer and the necks shorter which meant I was cutting less off with the WFT.

I currently size for two lengths in .223 using the Comparator. I size to 1.460 for about everything and for a Mini 14 with a longer chamber to 1.465. (I do this by using two different RCBS dies set up in a Lee 4 hole turret press) This is for .223 I shoot in AR's, bolt actions and the Mini. You have to measure the fired cases and then take about .005" off (5 thousands of an inch) to make sure they feed good. A factory case in .223/5.56 still loaded and unshot seems to be consistently 1.460" long in my Comparator.

If you are not using the Comparator I highly suggest you try it out. You might be trimming too much material and case length. Now the brass seems to be more consistent making the case easier to crimp with the crimp in a seating die.

Yes! I trimmed a ton of 5.56 brass and liked it so well I bought a 308/7-08 trimmer. Super accurate and fast.

WFT is all I use for .223, 7mm-08, .30-06, and 7mm Rem Mag.

Giraud makes a GREAT one that works like the WFT and is chamfers the inside and outside of the case as well. I have both but will buy the Giraud going forward for any trimming needs that I have.
