Thinking about buying a leupold 30 mm cds scope to put on top of my muzzleloader. I'm currently shooting 275gr parker bullets being pushed by 100 grains on blackhorn. Am I crazy for wanting to put a scope like that on there?

I love my Omega. I have a Leupold 2-7x shotgun scope on it and it works great.

I have a Leupold Ultimate Slam 2-7 on my Omega. The SABot reticle has aiming points out to 300 yards. Not sure why you'd need anything more than that.

Most shots are under 100 yards around here

200 yards I'm 10" low, 2" high at 100 yards. I'd like to experiment 300-400 just to see

The Blackhorn site lists the velocity of that load as 1852 fps. Plug your numbers into a ballistics calculator and you'll get data out to 500 yards. I use the one on the Federal website but I think Hornady has one too. You'll have to guess at the BC on your bullet unless Parker lists it. Maybe .225

I use the Vortex Diamondback 4-12X40 Dead Hold BDC on all my builds. Great scope, extreme low light, one hole accuracy over and over with magnum bh209 loads. Make sure you also get a good scope mount and rings like the DNZ that comes on them. https://www.smithandedwards.com/pro...0-dead-hold-bdc-reticle-scope-19175.html

I have a Nikon bdc right now. Nothing wrong with it, just prefer leupold and like the cds option
