I'm posting this here because it involves handguns. There are two threads on the first page here, by two different, newer posters. On another gun forum, I saw the two same exact posts, but both from the same poster. Strange...

That said, apparently there are different kinds of trolls, troll posts, and motivations to create those posts.
Are questions from apparently uninformed newbies a form of trolling? Probably not if they are truly uninformed newbies. Almost certainly so if they are not uninformed (newbie or not), and then the question becomes one of motivation.
I'm 67, been around guns all my life, know a fair amount, and still take joy in learning something new. That is the good side of the 'net, and I remember when solid information was a hell of a lot harder to come by.

To be more specific--KellyJ and Gooch McGrundle are the same person. They posted the same two threads on MGO under Mike213 from TX, which is weird because it's a Michigan website.
