I thought this was interesting. I have no interest in paying for I college education and not getting a diploma. If loans are forgiven then they need to be taxed as income.

Just a thought. If student loans are forgiven will the students that repaid their loans, like they agreed to do, get their money back ?

The day .gov got involved with college is the day education failed.

As a matter of fact the day the state got involved is the day it started failing.

Education needs to be private, no state or .gov involvement.

I thought I was the only one who thought this.

I borrowed a small amount to get through graduate school a little quicker...paid it back under a year. Son did his undergrad and part of his MBA on the GI bill, balance of his MBA was picked up by his employer. We have two boys in college right now. Expensive schools. Wife and I are scrimping and cutting corners to cover it so they don’t end up massive debt. Hopefully th3 younger boy will have an ROTC scholarship next year forward..

You are not......this coming from a college grad before .gov got involved. I can tell you that it’s all about the taxpayer $$$$$ now with any .edu elem, jr, or high school, tech, state or university.

Covid19 and liberals have proved this to be correct. Teacher unions would not exist in a private .edu system.

I don’t see any reason why college should cost anywhere close to what it does. How is it a kid can go K-12 for a few thousand a year in cost but 4 years of college cost what it does? If anything legal age adults should be less expensive to teach and online classes should be cheaper and easier to institute still. One teacher with a Masters degree should be able to institute an online class that could teach 10’s of thousands and spread the cost out to pennies per student. Something not possible for K-12 because it’s basically daycare and free meals for working parents.

Whether it is free college or student debt relief or reparations or EBT cards or Medicare for all it is absolutely a transfer of wealth from those that have earned it to those that have not. Make no mistake.

Free money demands more free money.

Money that is printed by the treasury but is not backed with an exchange of Labor dilutes the value of the money you have earned and provides it to those that have not.

This is a transfer of wealth plain and simple. 101 economics.
