I am reloading for my 7 mm Remington Magnum and I checked my chamber to see where the land were touching the ogive/2.84 of the bullet and all my factory loads I’ve ever shot out of it Is jumping a full tenth of an inch. How far do you usually start when jumping a bullet?

I've never bought my bullets a trampoline so the darned things have never learned how to jump.

But, for hunting loads I usually start around .015 off the lands,, and seat deeper in about .03 to .04 increments.

Im not surprised. The best i can do is .216 and .185 in my two 300 WMs; both model 70s. Both shoot well so it doesn't bother me.
Normally, i end up somewhere between .050 and .020 off the lands in my non magnum hunting rifles.

Only YOUR rifle will tell you what it likes. Load some at different seat depths and try with your bullet of choice.
You can also pull factory stuff and reseat. Break the bullet free first, that will ease movement. It`s been my experience that most factory stuff shot better when reseated out, or longer.
