What's with all you fuggers who don't want to taste what you're drinking? I have been schooled in the ways of the MathMan and no longer put ice to whiskey, on occasion I do add a minute splash of 'non-municipal' water however. Sometimes a drop or two of still spring water is just what a whisk(e)y needs. It's the chilling of the spirit that's counterproductive.

Thanks for the price clarification. I think we'll pass on that level of booze. I bought my wife's bourbon yesterday. They were out (again!) of the Jim Beam Black she prefers in the 1.75L so she opted for JD at $40 for the 1.75L. We also picked up some Jameson's for Irish Coffee, and my usual 1.75 of Gordon's gin for $25 or so. Beefeaters was $46 and I can't tell it from the Gordon's. I also drink Famous Grouse and any whiskey except bourbon.
It isn't that we're cheap - but neither of us can detect any real difference in most booze. She's tried some of the higher-end bourbons like Bulleit and doesn't care for them at all. I've tried some of the highly touted gins and also don't like them. Maybe we just have plebian palates, I dunno. You may have classified me as a snob, but I assure you I don't look down upon a spirit because of a moderate price. I'm perfectly happy enjoying garden variety Old Forester in my Glencairn glass. Pinky not extended by the way.

I never mentioned any names, my friend. (That to mathman. I forgot to click the Reply to button.)

Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
Ain’t easy havin pals.

I have gone back to where it all started [for me] and have been enjoying G Dickel #12. Been a nice trip way down memory lane.

Its all good mixed with coca cola. What I'm talkin' 'bout. I like it mixed with Diet 7•Up. Crown, bourbon, Jameson’s...I like all of it mixed with Diet 7•Up.
Every day on this side of the ground is a win.

Rocky the High West I like is $70 for a 750 ml. I don’t drink much and it lasts me a long time. If I’m going to drink I’m going to really enjoy it. If it's $70 in Utah it would be $40 in Nevada.

I do collect bourbon, and buy allocated bourbons almost exclusively anymore. I know which ones I like, and those I don’t. I don’t buy ones I know I don’t like, as I’m not a flipper(someone who buys and sells bourbon on the secondary market)
I will spend a little more than msrp if necessary, but nothing crazy. If I buy it I am also always willing to open and drink it. They are for looks and drinking!!!
I’m not much of a rye drinker. Always wanted to try the caribou rye but have never found it. Someone send me a bottle lol
I typically go neat or with some branch water. Occasionally a ice cube made from branch water.
Any bourbon deemed not good enough for neat becomes a mixer bourbon.
