Your cutting out a lot of young active military with that idea...those poor kids live like gypsies with frequent rotations, many don't buy until they retire.

This is a weird thing that some people espouse... I suppose it makes them think that they are somehow more aligned with the ideals of the Founders. I think mostly it's to boost their own feelings of self-importance. Basically, with only landowners voting, you have oligarchy. And one step away from feudalism. With only these oligarchs voting, perhaps the rest of us (who supposedly "don't have any skin in the game") should not be forced to fight their wars for them... or be taxed... or abide by any of the laws that they pass.

As asinine as this "only landowners should vote" thing is, believe it or not, there are others who actually are promoting a return to monarchy.

We've allowed them to vote themselves a big part of our paychecks long enough.

If you don't pay income federal income tax, don't pay property tax & are not on active duty in the US military, you get no vote.

Federal tax "refunds" because on (non) earned credit doesn't count.

But all that is just wishful thinking, sad to say.
