Evening, im looking for a new scope for my bsa 7x57. Im done with Leupold and have a vortex for my 06. Im looking for a 3x9 or 2x10 , my longest shots are usually under 200 but do hunt the desert down around burns. I want repeatable turrets, dont twist em much unless i switch ammo. Cant find any meoptas to check out, are they as good as claimed? Thanks

Meopta scopes are probably the very best value when dollars spent vs performance are compared.

Reports indicate they’re reliable and have good glass. They just need to come up with a lightweight somethingx36ish and I’m in.

The last two scopes I picked up are Meoptas.
I'm sure there are other very-good-value scopes out there, but I like to stick with known-quality/customer-service.

5 months ago I bought a Meopta Meopro 3-9x40 BDC $375.......not good enough to hunt with.
Buying optics on line is as bad as buying shoes on line.

I think I have 6 or7 of them and as far as the optical portion they regret. I do have an old Artremis that may have jiggled something loose on y ML11 muzzle loader.. Recoil is significant. Enough to jiggle any scope. You have to be careful when hunting in the evenings as you can see too much past the 1/2 hour after sunset.

Here is my initial evaluation: https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/14979680I built (4) rifles in September 2020; Defiance 7mmSTW, Rem700 250 Sav, Mosin 25 Krag Ackley, Mauser 6.5-06. I mounted the Meopta, but took it off. In October 2020 I wound up taking scopes hunting with reticles easier for me to see; Schmidt Bender 3-20x50 34mm PM II SWFA SS 2.5-10x32 Ultralight Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15x42mm Swarovski Optik Z3 3-10 x 42

to answer your question yes meopta scopes are as good as touted. meopro is optically better than vx3 or step up to meostar/czech made and they really start to wow vs $ spent. and to add their cs is imho second to none in the optics business. Big Ed

I just posted this pic on another thread. Definitely check out the Meopta Optika5 scope. 3-15x44 will be perfect on your 7x57 Mauser. I love that cal and have taken a lot of deer with it. Very good low light performance and not too heavy for your rifle. Hard to go wrong with Meopta quality.

I have a meopta 3.5-10 with #4 reticle and think that is a GREAT scope! It's been mounted on a couple different rifles and has never failed to hold zero. The adjustments seem robust. It's not a dial type scope but a set it and forget it scope. I've hunted with it and have been very impressed with the glass and reticle. I have had no problem seeing deer or the reticle before or after legal shooting times in NC.

Love my Meopta Meopro/Cabelas Instinct/Zeiss Conquest MC scopes which are all made the same place and pretty much the same thing. I have never found them wanting in any way.

So why did they discontinue the one that was like the old Conquest 3x9? The Optika 5 weighs over 20 ounces. That kind of weight just totally destroys the balance on any rifle. There are literally fewer and fewer scopes I want to buy with every passing day. Dang, I liked the Conquest.
