What is the deal with the AMH ? Is the Prince Rupert to points North running or not? The website is the most unhelpful difficult to use department of redundency department in the whole disfunctional system...IMHO.

Don't think we've been going to Rinse Pubert for a while. Bellingham is the only out-of-state stop.

Things went "south" (pun intended) a few year back when we (I'm with DOT&PF) needed to make improvements to the terminal in Pubert. There were two main issues: (1) Federal aid requirements have a "Buy America" clause. This is to protect US steel manufacturers primarily. Improvements included a lot of steel for piling, transfer bridges, dolphins, etc. and the Kanuks had a problem with this and we couldn't get a waiver from D.C. (2) We needed to provide security at the terminal. They said we had to use (and pay for) the RCMP. We were spending money on their turf and they wanted to make the rules - we (the state and DOT) said GFY . . . and here we are today.

Moving to Wrangell Feb.2021.No choice now except to use barge service to ship two vehicles and fly up.Last week the price to ship a 21 foot truck on the ferry was $1025 yesterday I checked price and it is now over $2200.

Third tour. This time half retired. Old man license after residency. Waited out residency three times. Half to SUBSIST on seafood kelp and small game for a year! But also solved the price "increase" fat fingered Whittier instead of Wrangell. So back to shipping the Arima by ferry.

I hope it will run long e tough to get you there. Today one of the new ones ( I think) broke down and had to return to Juneau could not make it to Haines.
