Putting together a rifle on a m700 SA.

Stock is a Browns Precision Pound'r inlet for the BDL bottom metal. Doesn't seem like there is much more room to put in anything wider.


The bottom metal that was on my SPS is....well....not nice. Lol.


Looking for known replacement bottom metal. Either BDL or DBM. I can clean up the inlet if it's a smidge off but like I said, I don't think I have the room to put M5 metal in or something with a much bigger footprint.

450 Bushmaster so mag length isn't a big deal.


I see so much stuff called replacement and fine print says it's not a drop in replacement...

I’d look online for an older gloss finished BDL guard and floor plate. PTG units were decent last time I used them but delivery was sketchy, don’t know if they’ve remedied that or not.

Redhawk rifles now has their own nice BDL factory replacement.

Midway has a lot of PTG in stock. Be worth a look.

805, I had forgotten about Red Hawk.


While looking at their page, they had a link set up for all m700 options.


I came across the HS Precision DBM.


The small mag hardly sticks out which would be nice on a hunting rig.


Been reading the 450 bushy tends to do well from a center feed...which it is. Even found a post from a guy saying that's all he uses for 450 bushy 700s.


I kinda ruled out DBMs because the majority tend to stick out much more than I'd like on a hunting rig. I do a lot of walking and have my rifle in my hands most the day.


Just putting an action and stock to use that I've had sitting around and making a handy little deer thumper that is midwest legal.

Hawkins makes a very nice product.

Hawkins also gets my vote.

Kwik klip makes a drop in dbm for the BDL inlet. Flush with bottom of stock.

I use one on my 308. Works great.

Scarce as hen's teeth. However, if you can find them, HS Precision Gen1 DBM and magazines are very close to totally flush mount. Very comfortable for one hand carry of a hunting rifle with your hand around the action area just ahead of the trigger guard...
