Time to look for a decapping rod for the 17 Fireball I am working on now...
Lee Universal Decapping die isn't small enough...
Looking on their site isn't coming up with one...
anyone have any answers to share?

Just have one made, any Tool shop could grind one out of a 3/16 drill blank .

Looking for the same thing. Could one have a Lee decapper turned down to work with 17 caliber?

Lee has custom-made some 17 cal stuff in the past, but I don't know if they still do. My father bought a 17 Remington Lee die set that included a collet sizer. I would suggest this: Just have one made, any Tool shop could grind one out of a 3/16 drill blank .

When I needed one for my 204 Ruger, I just dropped the decapping pin down in the sizer die as far as I needed to for it to make contact with the primer and not the neck sizing part.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

My factory lee works for 20cal.
Took a second one and turned thd stem down so if would work in a 17cal. But left enough original dia at top of rod so it would still lock in place

Rcbs sent me one for free after a I bent mine..all in one decapper expander. Give them a call.

Since this thread got recycled to the top once again.....( and I appreciated the input from everyone who posted).. I solved my problem easily after a call to Lee.
They told me that I could make a separate decapping " die" easily. They sent me 3 decapping rods, and told me all I had to do was put it in any Lee short action die...
So I took a spare 30/30 FL die that was surplus and replace its Decapping pin, with a 17 Caliber decapping pin...
The guy I spoke to at Lee was a 17 Fireball shooter, so he just sent me the 3 decapping rods at no charge...
I called RCBS also, and for the 17 Fireball die set I have from them... they also sent me 3 decapping rods at no charge also....
But I just like the method described by the guy from Lee.... Lee also sent me a 221 FB as a body die, without a Spindle in it.... that works great also...

After being shown how to think outside the box, by the guy at Lee.. this was a piece of cake...
I was disappointed after it all, and it was so simple of a solution, didn't know why I couldn't think of that on my own....
Felt like a dummy after that....irksome when a simple solution is starring you right in the face and I am blind to it...
with the snow we got, I am going to just stay at home today... roads suck due to NO Snow removal equipment in the county, except solar, which ain't working...
and then we have a million CA Transplants here, who NO CLUE on how to drive on slick roads.... along with the same crowd that think 4 WD on ice, turns the roads into summer....
So I am going to spend some time, loading up some of Fireball rounds.. and also dust off some components to load up some 20 Practical Ammo, and will take to the range for some fun, when the weather clears up some..
Here in Oregon, they don't sing " I'm dreaming of a White Christmas..." instead its " I'm dreaming of a Wet Christmas... just like the one WE always know..."
