Anyone know of a good hanger for elk size skulls/racks? I'm going to hang mine about 12 feet high and I definitely don't want it to fall. The standard whitetail/mulie hangers don't look strong enough to trust.

ditto, even got a 65" moose hanging on the same. So far it's holding although made me a little nervous when I first hung it.

The big skull hooker holds a few of my bigger and heavier elk racks just fine.
Hopefully this isn't too obvious, but make sure the screws are in a stud. I am amazed at how many people don't think about that kind of thing when hanging heavy pictures/mounts/whatever.

I like those. Price is reasonable too.

Those skull mounts look pretty cool . Knowing what I know of framing and such , if I had some elk and deer mounts to do now I would make a base out of a slab of cedar or some such beautiful wood that would span two to three studs (if aesthetically practical) to hang my mounts on. I have never liked the one stud suits all method , from experience.

No Bob, I don't have the room for an Elk mount. Heck I'm going to have trouble making room for the Euro. smile

Skull max.com hands down the best hanger out there. So many ways you can adjust it. Also once it’s clamped on it can’t fall off like a bunch of the other hangers. Take a look at them.
