Are you selling a different scope? The ad title states it's for a "VXIII," yet the scope in these photographs very clearly indicate it's a Vari-XIII. That's not the same.

Nope. Everyone, including Leupold, abbreviated them as VX III until they "improved" them and called them VX 3 with a number instead of Roman numerals. The one for sale is pictured.

This is helpful; although the vx3i is now the current version as this is a few years old. Here is the sequence:
1. Oldest Vari-X III: friction adjustments, single coated lenses
2. Middle Vari-X III: click adjustments, single coated lenses
3. Late Vari-X III: click adjustments, Multicoat-4 lens coatings
4. VX-III: click adjustments with finger turn knobs, Index Matched lens coatings
5. VX-3: current model with finger turn click adjustments, dual bias springs, blackened lens edges, latest lens coatings with very hard scratch resistant outer lens coatings

My understanding is the the vari X III is an older version Leupold scope and the VX III is newer, with improved glass/coatings. And the VX3, and VX 3i are newer yet.

Leupold never called a Vari-XIII scope anything but that. Vari-XIII, VX-III, and VX-3 scopes are all entirely DIFFERENT scopes. See you later, SCAMMER.

I once saw an 80% lower go for $300 on eBay and various El Paso K4 Weavers go for $200 and up, so there's that. I wouldn't consider eBay an arbiter of anything but the uninformed, impulsive, and grifters. At any rate, this particular seller is advertising a VX-III for sale. It is not.

I sold a pristine silver VX-3 3.5-10x40 right here a couple years ago.
