That Ranger is a fugking retard.
Didn't communicate effectively.
Schit officer presence.
Failure to control the scene and establish his purpose.
Zero effort to restrain subject without force.
Misuse of the taser.
Inability to control the subject while taser cycle was occurring.
Inability to restrain subject after deployment of taser. You and some of the others must have watched a different video than I did. The officer seemed very reasonable and professional to me. I'm glad I joined here. Seems to be a large number of people with internet degrees in law & order, & criminology. Not to mention the others with their expertise and degrees in medical and virology. I may never need to go to the dr or lawyers office again!

Unless you have committed a crime you are not required to show I’d to a police officer. Does this not apply to a simple ranger? Edk The crime was getting off the marked trail. Then getting belligerent. Your definition of "belligerent" and mine sure differ. All he was doing was walking toward the parking lot. How is that "belligerent"?

He was tased for the reason most people will get tased; resisting arrest. Tonto was breaking the laws of the park, which the ranger is there to enforce. You wanna use the park, you need to comply with the rules of the park. That's kinda simple. If you aren't going to follow the rules, hike somewhere else. He had a choice. The ranger stated he was inclined to just issue a warning but first he wanted to know if Tonto was in the system as having been warned before, hence, the need to ask for his ID info to run him thru the system. Had Tonto not broken the law, he would not need to provide ID. If he had been warned before, Ranger Rick was going to issue him a summons. But Tonto defies the officer's lawful authority. Now the officer can just pussy-on out of there and let Tonto walk away, or, he can insist that Tonto comply with his lawful orders. Ranger Rick decides he's going to arrest this guy and cuff him but Tonto he no like that idea. He resists and, as one should expect, gets tased. In the old days, the LEO would just hit him over the head with a stick, knock him down and cuff him. These days it's the taser. Either way, it's better to either give him the info he wants, or, when being placed under arrest, put your hands behind you and fight it in the courts if you think Ranger Rick has violated your rights in some way.
It's ok to jaw as much as you want to the cop but know that if you have broken a law, you're not likely to get cut any slack. That's just human nature. Pick your battles. With our pansy liberal judges, Tonto may get some cash out of this, but he certainly doesn't deserve a dime. A park sign is now "The Law"?!

It comes down to what constitutes grounds for tasing someone. Sacred grounds. Well here’s the guy, says he’s a former US Marine. (Scroll down for pics) https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...tedly-tased-park-ranger-going-trail.htmlLooks sorta effeminate to me but clearly he has the “I’m an Indian” thing going on. In the video the Ranger says he was “behind the Valvoline” and there’s buildings in the near distance. Could be this little patch of land could easily be trampled all to heck without some control. None of which is relevant, comes down to did the Ranger have legal grounds to taze the guy. The ranger even thanked him for his service after bein informed that he was a former U.S. Marine. Maybe he was a dishonorable discharge.

Let's all agree: this is what occurs when two idiots meet.....dumb [bleep]. The sand destroyer, has the God given right to be an idiot, being stupid or dense maybe hard of hearing or even suffering from PTSD is not against the law , on the other hand, the government has standards, we have both physical and mental standards that must be met before they are paid to interact with the general public . The sand man will be well paid, because the government failed to train ranger Rick on how to treat the people that are paying your wages. You don't need an ID, to vote in a presidential election, but you do need one to walk in the sand !

Do all the young braves take their yappy little lap dog along on their prayer walk to the neighborhood sacred sand dune?
