His first mistake was buying the murdercycle!! My Doc went under three semi trucks broken hip arm etc! Told him “Doc buy you a P-51 and I’ll teach you how to fly it and you’ll be a helluva lot safer!!

It don’t take a deer coyote or rabbit! Friggin Mocking bird can fly into the riders helmet and break your friggin neck!!

They are dangerous. I totalled my Honda 175 in downtown Atlanta, got hit by a car at an intersection. My brother T-boned a lady in a Cadillac with his Kawasaki Mach111 500, totalled. He did a flip over the Caddilac and landed on his back in the middle of Peachtree Road during morning rush hour. Both of us walked away without a scratch.

Why are we breathing air today? We took the insurance money and bought a van.

Motorcycles are dangerous.

At least the guy used the front brake. So many just stomp on the rear brake and slide out and down. He would have been better to just run over that little deer. I practice panic stops on gravel all the time to practice brake control. ABS will save a lot of people but technology makes riders lazy and complacent. Still, if one has a bike with very powerful front brakes, ABS is a valuable aid. GD

It looked like he swerved and braked hard at the same time. Doing that will throw you to the pavement in a millisecond. My only motorcycle crash happened one day on my way to the gym. The car in front of me braked unexpectedly, so I braked hard. My front wheel wasn't perfectly straight, and the Suzuki DR650 is known for huge brake dive. Before I knew it I was on the ground. It was summer, hot, dry road, the front didn't lock up. Luckily, I'm an ATGATT guy. Scraped my helmet a tiny bit, scraped one sleeve on my Vanson, tore my jeans over my knee. ABS would not have helped.

This guy did the same. Don't grab a handful of brake brake unless your front wheel is straight. No idea why he wasn't wearing full gear. He didn't hit the deer, seems like better braking technique would have prevented this.

My buddy broad sided a German Shepard doing like 70 on his street bike. He said it darted out in front of him on highway and he just kept it straight and held on. Cut the dog in half but he didn't wreck.

Sorry to hear about the dog, but much better the dog than himself getting injured.

That poor Deer was only a few hours old.

I bet half this board has had a near miss with a vehicle and a deer. It's rare to meet someone in rural Texas who hasn't hit at least one at some point.
