Might have to get one just so I can have some ammo. Stopped by the local Bass Pro to kill time between Dr appointments and the only ammo they had on the shelf was 3 boxes of .309 Win Mag and 20 boxes of 6mm Creedmoor in a couple different brands and bullet weights
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets

6 Creed has been the one cartridge, along with 224 Valkyrie that I've seen on shelves over the past quarter.

Same at my BP. Of course the gun sales counter doesn’t know what a 6 Creed is. Wish I’d jumped on the Brownell’s Howa 6 Creed Barrel Action deal a while back.

Anywhere I go here I can find 6mm Creedmoor, the problem there’s no rifle chambered in 6mm I really want though.

I was all set to buy a 6.5 Creedmoor in the Fieldcraft last year. When I went to buy it with cash in hand, I didn’t like how short the LOP felt, so I passed. Now if Tikka would make a T3X in 6 Creed, I’d buy one ASAP.

I love mine.
Available ammo doesn't suck either.

The 6 Creed is about as close as you can get to a fast twist .243 or the other way around, a 1x 8 twist.243 A.I. will make you rethink the drinking the 6 mm koll--aid, whatever floats your boat, but I will stay with he .243. Rio7

6 Creed has been the one cartridge, along with 224 Valkyrie that I've seen on shelves over the past quarter. My son built a 224 Valkyrie AR15, and since about August, finding ammo has gotten a lot harder. When he does find it, it’s expensive as all get out.

I had a 6 creed. It was a cool cartridge, but didn't do anything a 243 won't do. Now I'm building a 7.5 twist 6mm rem...

Of course the 6 creed doesn’t to anything a 243 with the same twist won’t do. Just like the 6.5 doesn’t do anything a 1-8” 260 doesn’t do. The point is most factory chambered 260’s don’t come 1-8” and neither do 243’s.
Under normal circumstances the factory ammo for the creedmoors are typically a little better and very affordable.
Now obviously if you’re building a new rifle and can have your choice of barrel twist/ chamber and handload none of that is very important. For people who don’t already own a 260 or 243 and do not load their own ammunition the creedmoors are a good way to go.

I had two Kimbers spun up in 6 creed for my kids. Both stack 108s without issue at 3050fps.
Yup.

If you’re willing and able to build or modify, you can have almost anything, but that takes time, money and patience. Why bother when a factory option is (was a year ago anyway) ready to go? One of the most common arguments made in favor of the .243 over the 6CM is factory ammo availability. Not now! And while the .243 is pretty much as good as the 6, never heard a solid reason why it’s better. It also, according to some folks who know about such stuff, can get a little squirrelly when loaded close to max. All that said, I have both, because to paraphrase Stick, rifles matter more than cartridges. Sold a perfectly good Hawkeye AW .243 to buy a fast-twist No.1, but sold that when I found a FC in 6CM. Would’ve done the same thing if the FC was their 7” twist .243. Later I stumbled over a .243 Howa Alpine, and grabbed it too. Next up was one of the $250 Howa barreled actions in 6CM from Brownells, because sometimes (always) price matters too.

Bought a FC in 6mm CM last year and loaded up some 105 Bergers hunting, they have been very impressive. I would have never tried the Bergers if the FC didn't have the 7" twist rate. Who can complain about a light weight rifle shooting 105 Bergers that kills way beyond it's pay grade. I just ordered more brass and bullets, it's becoming one of my favorite deer rounds this year although the Bergers do some serious damage at close range.

Man that sure turned out nice! My wife’s stock is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I load H4350 in my 6creed but found 3# of staball so I plan to use it in this other one. If you don’t mind me asking where did you end up? Obviously I’ll start low and work up. I was planning on starting a few grains under my H4350 load but thought I’d ask here now since several of us picked up these barreled actions.

I started with the data on Hodgdons site and worked up from there. Been using 44.4 grains so far and it’s been unbeatable. I also use CCI250’s since it’s a ball powder. I don’t know if it’s needed but it’s been working great and I have a ton of them. 43.4 shot about the same well, so I went for speed. Now that hunting season is done I should have some time to try it out at distance and see if I still like it. Only got a chance to zero at 200 but it was very good there. I’m not expecting any surprises. So far, I like Staball a lot since it meters fantastic.
