I have a Browning AB3 bolt gun. I need to take the bolt apart for cleaning but it seems that manufacturer doesn’t even publish a parts list or any diagram for this weapon.

Can anyone help me with bolt disassembly and reassembly instructions for this weapon?

Sadly the AB3 bolt is completely different from the older A-bolt model in this video. I actually started with this video and I clamped the sear tab as shown in video and tried to spin it loose... But the whole assembly appears to spin freely without loosening.

But thank you for the response. Is anybody familiar with the specific Browning AB3 bolt design?

I did manage to get my question answered in another forum. So I was able to get my bolt apart and back together again - but it was still a PIA.

This YouTube video shows how to get the charging handle off bolt of a very similar action - it turns out that the charging handle is what keeps the firing pin assembly inside the bolt. https://youtu.be/aJXdrLfHv-w

So I got what I needed, and I learned something about my rifle.

The one frustrating thing about Browning/Winchester is that they refused to give me any parts list diagram for the AB3 model - although the Browning website shows complete list diagrams in pdf format for all their other Browning models (like X-bolt and older A-bolt).

So if any of you have access to parts list diagram for AB3.. I would be very grateful for a copy.

Bottom line is I do like the function and accuracy (and price!) of the AB3, but I probably won’t consider another because it doesn’t appear to be maintainable for the owner. This seems to be another concern on top of typical Browning issue that barrel is nearly impossible to replace.
