Anybody else listen to this podcast? (for most of you, a podcast is like an old timey radio show that you download on the interwebs).

I just finished the last (for now) episode... pretty entertaining. It's done by a liberal journalist, but his work product seems pretty well balanced an honest.

Synopsis: Boggs/Begich missing plane in '72. Begich's widow marries a mobster shortly after. Widow probably knew what he was and (requested the hit?)

Markey Mark's mom comes out pretty poorly. Lots of good old gossip from 70'-90's Anchorage, some of the people are still around (owner of the Cabin Tavern, Green Furriers, etc).

I have known several owners of the Cabin Tavern over the years and know the current owner quite well. Current owner owned it back in '69 or so and then got it back when the owner died. So there have not been many owners in the last 50 years. I lived directly above Andy's in the mid-'60s. It was a couple quonset huts back then, one without lights. But Muldoon was not paved then either.

Bobby McGees was a strange one... looked like the Feds were wise to the plan long before it happened and Billy Ray Halversen (IIRC) was planted to watch the show. I knew Billy Ray a little back then from electrical work I was doing.

Or, if you have an Iphone, you can get the episodes from the included podcasts app... but the iheart app is better.

FWIW, IHeart Radio is the parent company of 650 KENI

What makes you think Begich wasn't in with the mob?

Read the book "Johnny's Girl" by Kim Rich, her dad Johnny Rich was part of the Anchorage crime scene in the 60's and ended up getting murdered. Back then we had the Hurn family and another guy that had a big boat in Seward and fished the Silver Salmon Derby every year and even won it, can't for the life of me remember the dirt bags name, darn old age. Maybe Sitka knows who I am thinking about

My wife's dad was a Deputy U.S. Marshal during the Territory days and a cop in Fairbanks when Steven's was DA and business partners with him and legendary drinking Mayor George Sullivan, her dad also pulled a stint in the Alaska Legislature. I swear he knew dirt on every one.
