I’m going to read the Gulag Archipelago by aleksandr solzhenitsyn. All Trump supports need to understand what is coming for us. We’ve all been publicly labeled domestic terrorist by the incoming administration already. They’re already calling for long prison sentences for dissidents. MAGA movement rallies are defacto banned already. A couple of government infiltrators will start some minor riot or sit in and everyone who attended the rally will be rounded up and sent to a gulag for a decade or more.

Dave, that and The Bell Curve should be mandatory reading and testing before you can get a high school diploma.

I love the thought but that is one Uber thick and dense series of books.

Anyone who can finish it has my utmost respect. Seriously.

Read the whole series when I was in high school and in the army and man did they impact me. The stories were so enraging it was hard to put the books down.

The one thing that always bothered me is a story I heard about Solzhenitzyn after he emigrated to the US. He constantly badmouthed the US for not being "free enough" or democratic enough....

Read it decades ago. It will open your eyes as to how a true police state runs.

It will be a daunting undertaking but I think it will be worth the effort to truly understand the evil that is socialism.

He knew what he was talking about I’d say. I love my country but fear my government has always been my feeling. I watched federal trials after high school. My mother clerked for a federal judge and I would walk from school to the courthouse and wait for a ride home. It left a deep loathing and distrust for the FBI and DEA. The enticing and entrapment used by our government was completely immoral.

I did the audio book thing while commuting. Took few months. More than worth it.

This guy is pretty boring to listen to, but its only 7-1/2 minutes long and he really brings home some good points in the last minute or so.

The original is about 1800 pages long, 3 volumes and it's absolutely riveting. If you start you can't put it down. I read it when I was in my late 20s and again in my 50s. It's one I believe should be a required read in every high-school in the USA. Don't let it's size deter you. You'll find it is very much an addictive read and when it's done you are still wanting more.
If you want to know about socialism and the actual truth, instead of the lies the kids are told today, this is the way to do it. I have a friend who does a "family reading time" with his 3 kids and wife and they read the whole 1800 pages together in 5 weeks. Those 3 kids (one of which is 12) can chew up and spit out their school "history" teachers. It's funny how one teacher was mad at the dad for (quote -- according to the wife) "allowing the kids to hear such a vial story". But that's what you need to expect from lying socialists.

I have only heard a few people ever say a word bad about it, and all of them were avid communists who have a vested interest in the public being deceived. The only people that do not want kids to know what communisms is are communists.
