Hi Reloaders,
I just got a new 625 45acp performance center and have some 45 ar brass on the way. On hand I have quite a few .452 rn fp 200 grains, swc 200 grains, and swc 255 grains elmer k bullets. I usually use these for 45 LC and 45 schofield loads...I figured they would work ok in a 45 acp revolver...what do you think?
For powder...I have clays, trail boss, universal, and some h4198.
Can I use 45 acp load data for 45 ar? Do you have any advice based upon my components at hand?
I'm looking for some modest loads for plinking and hog busting when I'm not moon clippin'.
Thanks,
LW

Assuming the 255's are as advertised and .452 for that particular gun, Keith recommended that bullet with 7.5 grs. Unique.
I would not hesitate to sub the Unique for Universal Clays, but I would cut it down to 7 grs. for what you are looking for.
Yes, you can use any 45 ACP data to work with developing loads in the 45 AR. Starline brass is hopefully what you are using.

You can find data for all of those powders at Hodgdon's website, though none for 255's. I also would start with Universal.
