I've had WLP squib in the cold with 296. If you don't shoot in the cold, they are likely just fine. After I missed a broadside shot at an elk at 80 yds because of a squib, and then had a repeat squib later under the same cold conditions, I switched CCI 350s for all my 44 Mag loads using 296 or 110.

Always check each case to make sure you you put powder into it!

No schitt? With my 150 IQ, I somehow never considered that ammunition needs a powder charge, and I never bothered to come up with a loading procedure that contains checks, re-checks, and re-re-checks for safety and quality. If only I were smarter....

I have W296 Powder, Hornady 44 Mag Brass, 240 Gr XTP Bullets. I am confused as to whether I need Large Pistol Primers or Large Magnum Pistol Primers? For 44 mag with a 240 grain with W296, Hodgson’s website lists Remington LP and Hornady #10 specifies Winchester LP.

I have used both but prefer the magnum primers using any ball powder or if I might be shooting in really cold weather. I remember several hunts in Wyoming where the high was 4 below zero.

You still don't get it. There was the same charge of powder in the squibs. The WLP primer wasn't hot enough to ignite the slightly compressed charge of ball powder in below zero temps. And YOU go fuuck YOURSELF.

Be sure to put powder in the case before seating the bullet...looks like you missed one.
Try looking in the case mouth using a light source and...new eyeglasses.
Reattach your spring properly.
Probably with your limited experience and caution, best off not attempting to hand load with Unique...let us know how those double loads work out for ya...tough guy.
Your signature statement may just end up becoming reality.
Check your loads.
