Best options will cost you $3000. But how much do you want to spend?

Generally speaking anything around $300 and up not from China will be an improvement.

I like meopta meopros for deer hunting.

The Zeiss v4 I’m using this season is better. But more $$

Yo can find used meoptas for $350 or so.

The meopros are made in USA.

I’d like to eventually try an optika6.

I guess I should clarify I usually only see deer 20 minutes before and up to dusk . Naked eye can see great and if my eyes where 20 yrs younger would just use open sights
I’m willing to spend$3-4

I use a combo of binos and a scope.

I wish my eyes were better at lowlight also.

Normally Only time i look at a deer through a scope is when I’m ready to shoot.

I had one of those Revolution scopes you are talking about. Had the same problem you do. Well within your budget I recommend the new Burris Fullfield IV 3-12x56mm.
I have piled up more deer with a S&W I-Bolt 30-06 wearing a Burris 3.5-10x50mm than any other rifle I own, especially at last light like you hunt in.

I have a Hawke 8x56 with an illuminated dot you can get pretty cheaply, but it’s a heavy bugger and not very versatile. Made in China, but that wasn’t on your list.

Good glass with an exit pupil of 5 or better at higher magnification is what you want. I just bought a Trijicon 2.5-10x56. Wasn’t cheap, but not dreadful either. Heavier than the Hawke, but it has lower Xs on tap.

I have a Zeiss V4 3X12X56 with illuminated reticle. Awesome low light scope. Call Doug at CLNY for price.

For low light scopes, I've read that they have these characteristics:
- Fully multi-coated glass
- Large objectives (50mm better than 40-44mm)
- Simple and wide reticle such as a wide duplex (easier/faster to "pick up" in low light)

Also, recommend traveling to your closest scope-supplier at dusk, and talk them into taking 3 or 4 scopes outside to compare against one-another at last-light.
If you leave them your driver's license, they probably won't object.

Good luck.

A scope normally not thought of for lower light is the Meopro 6X with #4 or 4A reticle. I am liking this one a lot, unfortunately it may be discontinued, but a few are still available. The scope works better than it's cost level and the German reticle is a big plus on this or any low light scope. Good optics and simple design increase low light performance over the variables. I have not used it in deep woods but I could use it easily at least 30 minutes after legal hunting time. A full hour after sun set and on a bright night good enough to hunt hogs if they are out of the brush. Some would want the resolution of higher magnification which is why the 8x56 and equivalent variables are popular in Europe where night hunting is legal. But I don't see that as a good fit for general use on a 450 Bushmaster except for specialized use.

Check out as many as you can because eye sight varies. I would talk to Doug and get his top two picks with the understanding that one would be returned ( I would offer to pay return postage for this kind of service ).

If you are looking for a specific MeoPro scope and find one, buy it! They have been discontinued and are almost all gone. They are an excellent scope and there's almost a cult following of guys like myself who love the glass and lines of this scope.
