Has anyone used the feeder bottom that runs on AA batteries??? How did you like it? Pros/Cons...

All my feeders are either Moultrie or Spincast and run on 6v batteries... just curious about the AA batteries....

I run one.

Prolly 5+ years old.

One set of batteries lasts for months.

I usually swap new in next season. But they still got juice.

My go to is SpinCast brand outta TX.

The spinners cost more, but reliable and serviceable of needed.

Or get a Banks gravity feeder, with no battery or spinner.

If you are talking about the all-in-one casting device (around $30) ....I run about six of them on aging Moultrie old style barrel feeders. I use them because they work, easy to attach, AA batteries lasts for months, and I don't cry when a bear or big raccoon(s) pull them off. They are perfect for my needs. Usually can find them this time of year discounted.

I make my own feeders. I use 12 volt motor, Wild Game Timers.

dale06 - I bought three of them a few years ago... our deer would NOT use them... had them out for 6 months and they just refused...
huntstat - yeah that is what I was considering on a couple of new ones...
Hanco - I use that same tripod arrangement...
