I saw a Cooper Raptor at Sportsman's Warehouse, a few months back, and I almost bought it. I liked the rifle, but I was turned off by the 10+ pound weight of the Raptor. So, I decided to get one built one instead.

The new rifle isn't in my hands, quite yet, but it's done and the 'smith sent me pictures:

Rifle Specs:
Stainless 700 Action
6.5 Creedmoor, 1-8" twist
22" Mullerworks barrel, SS, carbon wrapped, sendero contour, threaded muzzle
AG Composites Alpine Hunter stock, carbon urban camo
Hawkins Precision M5 bottom metal
Oversized bolt knob
Cerakote, sniper grey
Jewel Trigger

Weight: 7lbs, 2oz

The rifle was built but Pederson Precision, in Wisconsin. Matt Pederson does the carbon wrapping for Mullerworks' barrels, so it was easy to just send him my action and let him take care of the rest. I sent him the action, mid-November, and he'll ship it back to me this week. I'll post a range report, when I get a chance to shoot it. I hope it shoots as good as it looks!

I've never monkeyed with this particular stock before, nor have I played with AICS magazines. If I like how this one shoots and handles, I can see doing another build similar to this in .223 Rem.

Nice! I’ve been looking at the AG stocks lately. Will be watching for the the report.

That sure looks like it turned out nice - congrats. I've read about his barrels before someplace else, never realized you could get a CF wrapped Mullerworks barrel.

Bet it will be a shooter!! Be sure to let us know what you think of that stock, those AG stocks appear to be a great option.

Very nice. I agree on the stock. I've got two adjustable Hunter stocks on order from AG Composites for heavier rifles.

Very nice. I'll bet that is a shooter. Do you know the weight of the barrel?

I live close to Matt and he did a 6.5 Creed for me last year but with Rock Creek barrel. He is a good guy and does excellent work!

No, sorry. I don't know the weight of the barrel. The 'smith provided the overall weight of the rifle for me.

I have two other Mullerworks barrels, both in sporter contours. One is on a .300 WM and the other is on my .280 AI (Shaen put both of these together). Both are shooters, clean up well, and don't seem to be very picky with what they like. Moose and caribou hate them, though. I guess you just can't please everyone! grin

If it helps, I have a Mullerworks .264 #4 Carbon Fiber on hand. It has a 2.5" shank and a 24" finish length (CF wrap ends at 23"). Barrel diameter is .660" at 24". With the additional 3" steel on the muzzle end (27" blank), it weighs 48.1oz.

I've got a 223AI built on a Lone Peak Razor TI with a 22" Mullerworks Sendero CF tube in a AG Composites Privateer with Hawkins aluminum M5 BDL bottom metal and the bare rifle weighs in at 5.96lb and is a real shooter....

I've got a SWFA fixed 10x with the MOA-Quad reticle that I picked up from another forum member.
