So I have a RCBS Rockchucker press that I really like. I noticed that Hornady makes a kit to convert it to the lock and load system. Has anyone done this? has it affected the accuracy of your reloads? It seems that there is some play in the die after converting.

Nobody? Wow, I didn't realize the system was such an anomaly.

I will just give my thoughts. I load handgun on a progressive so no need. Rifle is on the chucker. For that I never could justify the cost and possible introduction of bad things like runout I don’t have now. If it’s a justifiable cost to ease/time factor, go for it.

I had it on all my dies for many years, 12+. Run out was better than without, because the dies sit in the lock and load bushings with a large rubber gasket between the press and die, so it self aligns. Run out was .001 with the ammo usually. I now have a forster co ax, that I don't need them for. The concept in that press is similar with the floating die that slides in place.

Enough already, just shoot it!
