I have a blued Springfield Armory Range Officer that I like very much. And I have a bright stainless Gold Cup National Match that I love. I've owned a bunch...top to bottom. An older Springfield Range Master is my functional favorite.

Army issue that I toted around Nam. Never missed, not once. My grandfather's gift to me when I was 16..Got special permission from my Squadron CO to fly with it in SEA. I have Glocks and a vintage Colt CC but this one will always be close to heart for so many reasons..

Love my Les Baer PII 1.5
There were some extreme FTF issues when it first arrived but that's since been corrected.

Not the fanciest 1911, nor the most expensive, but I put this one together in the early 90's based on an early 1991A1.. Have carried it, and it has ridden with me a million miles. My favorite. You wouldn't want me shooting at you at 100 yards with it.

My favorite is in line for being built.....getting what I want. Commander slide on an Alloy Officers frame. Pardon my ignorance, but I have a couple of questions: 1) Who is building your 1911? 2) why not a Commander slide on an Alloy Commander frame?

I like my Kobra Carry, too. But my 1964 Government Model possesses a certain appeal all its own.

I like your Kobra carry. Congrats on your pistol.
Good luck buying ammo to break it in with. Ain't that the truth!

Good luck buying ammo to break it in with. I have a buddy who's a Cop so Ammo is not an issue for the most part The cop two houses down from me has offered to get me ammo through the police program he has access to. The offer was made a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure if it still holds, particularly in light of the recent insanity.

TRP for me. I have several. I have been looking closely at the Staccato Duo. I hope that we still will be able to buy 2011s when my tax refund comes in. TRPs are solid guns. I've had mine since the late 1990s. Believe it or not, it was my EDC for a few years. That Armory Kote finish is tough, as it still looks pretty new.

1911's are definitely my fav handgun. The Commander length is my overall favorite. It has an Officer's frame and is a pleasure to carry. I bought a couple of Scheumann barrels and will be playing with these in the not too distant future. The bottom barrel has a Briley comp. I love tinkering with 45's and assume it'll continue to be a lifelong hobby.

I would not want to get between you and that gun :-) that’s an awesome story...
