Just sighted in an old school Armalite AR10B... This is the AR10(T) .308. 24" stainless bull barrel, match trigger, free floated barrel. 1997 model. Unfired and NIB until today. All I can say is WOW! Outfitted it w/ a FFP ballistic reticle scope that I know is tried and true. True 1000 yard rifle. Now I just need someone to carry it around for me...

Good stuff. Mine shoots great/excellent 3 shot groups, 1 moa for 5 shots and 1.6 moa for 10 shots. Im pretty sure yours is on par with that in terms of accuracy/precision. Great rifles, only real negative is yours uses proprietary Armalite steel mags, not Pmags.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

They Are something else. Mine is the same as rockinbar's only difference I can see is my ss barrel has a black coating on it. Put a Mk4 10x Leupold on it I t has a 168grain bthp trajectory dial. Have bipod for it when your on your belly and got it ranged the target is in for a beating. Yeah mine uses armalite mags too. Mb

Bottom. I was out checking out some pawn and gun shops in the area and ran across a nice Armalite AR10 complete lower receiver for $500.00. Seemed like a good deal. The only downfall to that is it takes the Armalite AR10 upper receiver, not DPMS style receiver. The Armalite receivers are harder to find. You'll like that AR10. They are pretty good rifles.

Barry, what you need is a "gun boy" to carry that thing for you. Pretty cool looking rifle.

Years ago I bought 500 308 once fired wcc o8 brass for $40, last summer at a gunshow I found 5 100ct bags of 168 grain Nosler custom comp hpbt's for $50. Between $30/1000 primers and $30/lb powder my loads will be less than 1/2 closer to a 1/3 of what 223 is now running. Lol I'm rich. Mb

AR's are NOT "old school" to some of us - "old school" involved black! Nice rifle, Barry!

Nice. I have been thinking about free floating. Tell me about the clamp(?) On the muzzle end of the tube. From the perspective of thinking about a traditional bedding job that just seems odd.

Gas block not a clamp for the tubular forend, there is a tab off the bottom of the tube that comes off the frt edge of the tube and ends up on the backside of the gas block. Don't know how it attaches or if it does and I am not tearing it apart to find out.
