Got a chance at a late 40's vintage A-5 Light Twelve 29. 5" full choke real nice shape all original and matching #'s. It has the matted plain barrel and push safety in the trigger guard rings all there. So what's the going worth on these? Mb

Not what they were years ago, especially just after they moved production to Japan. Been trying to sell a very nice 1967 model with VR and Briley tubes for a while, but no takers yet, just out-of-state guys who apparently want something they can buy without the paperwork.
What fresh Hell is this?

Regrettably, unless it is near mint and of collector quality, it is likely worth about $450. Were it a smaller gauge, it would be worth more, as it also would if it were about 10 years newer (the older safety, often called the “suicide safety” was changed in the early ‘50s; the speed load function was added about then as well).
These are still excellent guns and a great value. I would replace the recoil springs, as new ones will have softened over 70 years.
