Actually, you’ll need a “system”.

Tikka. Well, whenever they get delivered to the market. Also Mauser/Sauer makes decent rifles in 6.5 PRC.

Begara is a good choice. I'd give this one the edge right now based on price and some of the comments of our members who have recently bought them.

It's hard to beat the M18 at around $450. They're proving to be very accurate with their hammer forged barrels. They also have a locking bolt handle along with a 60 degree bolt lift.

Swung by EuroOptic tonight to pick up a Mauser M18 in 6.5 PRC, and I wasn't alone, 3 others were there for the same exact rifle. Bodes well for both the M18 and the caliber. Ammo's hard to come by, but that's the case for ammo in most calibers these days. The first few boxes will be painful, but reloading after that shouldn't be as salty...

The folks at EuroOptic were great to work with and they had one heck of a good selection of quality firearms and optics. Most were out of my price range, but it was still nice to browse the display of shooting sports erotica...

The function feels good and the barrel is surprisingly solid for the weight. Get yours while they've got 'em, I can't imagine these hidden gems will last long. Here's a review that sealed the deal for me, note the group sizes. If accuracy is your goal, there's no better option that I've found for under 5 bills, out the door...

Picked up a Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 in 6.5 PRC a couple months ago. Most accurate lightweight mountain rifle I own. Most all 140 class handloads do .5” without any real load work up.

That's not really in the same class, as those approach 2k. The bergara and others in that class certainly have that accuracy, and they're a fine rifle, but the M18 does it at a quarter of the price. I doubt you'll find another .5" shooter under $500. For a gun to hunt hard with and hit the mark on the other side of a tough trek, the M18 is hard to beat. I wouldn't want to be breaking through the laurels in Pa with that pretty bergara, for me it'd be just a field or pipeline rifle at that price...

The M18 and Bergara Premier Mountain 2.0 are about the same weight. I would have bought an M18 in 6.5 PRC a few weeks ago if I didn't already have a 6.5 PRC. Once the stainless steel M18s are available here it'll be hard to pass up buying two or three. It's amazing what you get for around $450 with these rifles.

Where at if you don't mind? I'm wanting a PRC and leaning towards the Bergara with threaded bbl.

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.
